Ramblings
So, here we are. The first blog post. You would think that I have a lot to talk about, but I am totally drawing a blank. Let's start with some details about me, shall we? My name is Miguel, I recently turned 30, I am the father to twins with a boy on the way, and I am married to a woman I don't deserve. Why am I blogging you may ask? Well, it's really just to keep me motivated. Running isn't easy and I need something to keep me going.
I got out of the Army in April of 2016 and I quickly fell out of shape. It was a combination of having two infants, and deciding to take a break from the hustle and bustle I was used to. Fast forward two years, and here I am trying to get my fitness figured out. I asked myself one day what I did to lose weight to enlist in the army in the first place. Pretty simple answer it turns out. Running. So, I started running again a little over 2 months ago and finished my first 5k on my birthday on April 21st. That run sucked, but it motivated me to keep going.
As of now, I have a 10k scheduled in July and a half marathon scheduled for October. My goal here is to keep motivated and maybe motivate others along the way. Hell, it's just one foot in front of the other. That's easy, right? ...... Right?
We're sure as shit gonna find out.
Cheers,
Miguel
P.S. if you don't like vulgarity or really bad sarcastic jokes, then this blog isn't for you.
